To remove or not to remove, that is the question....

So today was the day that I thought we might get some answers on Sami's sleeping habits. And as always there is good news and bad news...the good news is that her tonsils and adenoids are fine and do not need to be removed. The bad news is we still aren't sure what is causing her poor sleeping habits. Therefore there are a few more hoops to go through to try and narrow it down. One of the steps...a repeat sleep study to see if she is waking when she is having seizures. Another is to visit a gastro doctor to see if she is having reflux. This one never entered my mind, however, it makes sense after talking with the doctor/nurse today. Samantha had/has hypotonia, which is low muscle tone, therefore, they are wondering if she could have low tone in her esophagus, which then would cause the reflux. So you ask what if the seizures aren't waking her and if she doesn't have reflux...well then my friends it means she has really bad sleeping habits and we will have to play hard ball with her and let her scream and kick things out on her own, until then, we will continue to invest in toothpicks to prop our eyelids open. zzzzzzzzzzzzz
